Acticoat 7 consists of two layers of an absorbent, rayon/polyester inner core sandwiched between three layers of silver-coated, polyethylene netting. The sustained release of broad-spectrum ionic silver actively protects the dressing from bacterial contamination, whereas the inner core maintains the moist environment needed for wound healing.
