ColoScreen Take Home Kits are designed to be a simple, reliable way for patients to administer a fecal occult test for their doctor. This easy to administer and develop fecal occult test is made with guaiac impregnated paper with a cardboard frame that allows the patient to place two very thin stool samples to the slides collected from three different bowel movements and then develop on the reverse side of the slide. By providing the patient with the equipment to give multiple samples per slide and designing the equipment with a bright blue color development interpretation, this kit increases the chances of a true, unmistakable positive result.

What are fecal screenings for?
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the United States today and the majority of people affected are over the age of 50. This is why doctors usually recommend regular colonic screenings after that age. Screenings usually start with a fecal occult test that is administered at home, or at the doctor’s office and then are usually followed up with a colonoscopy.
If it is caught early, it can easily be treated and even cured without the use of radiation or chemotherapy. Talk with your doctor if you think you might have this type of cancer, and help to prevent it by getting regular screenings, especially if you are at higher risk.
