Product Description

The Convatec 187660 Duoderm Cgf Dressing is made with a unique gelling action that creates a moist wound environment, designed to support the healing process and facilitate autolytic debridement. Duoderm is a moisture-retentive dressing that absorbs wound fluids and provides a moist environment, which supports the body's healing process and aids in the removal of unnecessary material from the wound (autolytic debridement) without damaging new tissue. The duoderm acts as a barrier to the wound against bacterial, viral and other external contamination while intact and without leakage. The Duoderm dressings are made to manage minor abrasions, lacerations, minor cuts, minor scalds and burns, leg ulcers (venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, and leg ulcers of mixed etiology), diabetic ulcers and pressure ulcers (partial-and full-thickness), surgical wounds (postoperative left to heal by secondary intention, donor sites, dermatologic excisions) second-degree burns, and traumatic wounds. What is a Hydrocolloid wound care dressing?

Hydrocolloid dressings are occlusive or semiocclusive dressings composed of such materials as geratin, pectin, and carboxymethylcellulose. The composition of the wound contact layer may differ considerably among dressings. Hydrocolloid dressings provide a moist healing environment that allows clean wounds to granulate and necrotic wounds to debride autolytically. Some hydrocolloids may leave a residue in the wound, and others may adhere to the skin around the wound. Hydrocolloids are manufactured in various shapes, sizes, adhesive properties, and forms, including wafers, pastes, and powders.

Duoderm Dressing By Convatec Is A Hydrocolloid Used For Partial And Full-thickness Wounds

Duoderm dressings support gentle wound healing

1.    Outer film provides a waterproof barrier over the dressing.

2.    Foam layer is designed to provide both thermal and mechanical protection.

3.    Honeycomb matrix of hydrocolloid particles absorbs exudate to form a soft, moist gel.

4.    Keeps nerve endings moist, which helps provide relief from discomfort.

5.    Duoderm CGF Wound care dressing can be worn continuously for up to seven days.

On contact with wound exudate, the hydrocolloid matrix forms a cohesive gel which supports moist wound healing.

Duoderm Cgf dressings has a unique matrix that controls the rate of absorption

  1. Good Product

Duoderm dressings works great. I have been using it on my father for just over a year now. He has a stage 2 pressure ulcer on his leg. Duoderm is the only dressing that seems to help heal the wound. Good Stuff!
