Are Face Masks with ties different than other surgical masks?

Face Masks with ties are the same as earloop face masks. The only difference is the way they attach to your head. Earloop Face Masks have an elastic loop on each side of the mask, which sides over the ear. The face mask with ties join together behind the head. Some people don't like the earloop's elastic bands touching there ears and prefer the tie-on style, it is a personal preference.
