Immunostics, Inc. proudly introduces its version of the popular guaiac slide test for fecal occult blood, Hema-Screen. Offered in several convenient formats, these attractively packaged kits are easy to use by both the patient and the test-giver.
Hema-Screen single slides are convenient for use when single stool specimens are to be tested. A single test is indicated when blood loss in the gastrointestinal tract is strongly suspected, for example, in persons with symptoms of ulcers, black stools, or in post-operative patients.
Hema-Screen in its original concept as slides and tape was designed to offer the hospital, laboratory, and physician a convenient, rapid method for handling fecal specimens in testing for occult blood.
Hema-Screen eliminates the mess and odors associated with the collection of fecal specimens. Slides can be prepared immediately, or placed in a sealed envelope at the test-giver’s convenience.
Hema-Screen Patient Packs allow the patient to collect, in an inoffensive manner, serial specimens at home over the course of three bowel movements, place the prepared slides in a sealed envelope, and mail them to the hospital, laboratory or physician’s office for development and evaluation.
