How long before I need to change the air intake filter?
Answer - The intake filter should be replaced after 30 hours of use. Do not use cotton or other materials instead of the recommended Invacare Porex PE inlet filters. Also do not wash or clean the filter as this can block the air flow to the compressor. Do not use the Stratos nebulizer system without an air filter as this can result in hair or lint entering the compressor, which could cause the motor to overheat.
How long can I use the disposable jet nebulizer mouthpiece before it should be changed?
Answer - The reusable nebulizer mouthpiece and tubing should be replaced every six months, when using it on a daily basis.
Can I clean the machine and parts without damaging them?
Answer - Yes, the nebulizer mouthpiece should be run under hot tap water after each use and be cleaned with a very mild detergent. Soaking in a vinegar and water solution daily can help remove any medication that is left in the mouthpiece or tubing. The nebulizer machine should always be un-plugged before cleaning and can be cleaned with a clean damp cloth and wiped dry. Do not submerge the machine in water, as this can cause damage.
