Kangaroo Intermittent Feeding Set is a gravity set with a Proximal spike made to deliver feeding formula by the force of gravity without the use of a enteral feeding pump. The connectors of this enteral tube set are not IV compatible to ensure proper use by all clinitians, and the 500 mL nutrition bag features a large opening so that it is easy to fill with fluid.
How would a gravity feeding tube set prove useful in my facility?
Gravity feeding sets are generally used for two reasons: when a patient has adequate gastric motility to tolerate bolus (intermittant) feeding, or when there is not an enteral feeding pump is available for that patient. If a patient only needs to use a feeding tube intermittently, why not use a gravity bag? It is easy to use, more comfortable and you do not have to deal with the hassle of the pump – you can save the pump for a patient who really needs it.
