Answer - An oxygen conserver is a low-pressure oxygen device that is used to prolong the life of an oxygen tank and prevent waste. 

How does an oxygen conserver work?

Answer - As you inhale the conserver allows oxygen to flow through the tubing to the mask. As you exhale the oxygen is cut off. This virtually cuts the oxygen tank usage in half. When we breathe, approximately one-third of the time is spent inhaling and two-thirds exhaling. As a result, oxygen delivered by continuous flow is wasted during exhalation.
