T.E.D Knee Length Anti-Embolism Stockings are designed to reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis in patients (DVT) by improving leg circulation. Made with a machine washable white nylon material, these compression stockings provide 18 mmHG of compression, feature an inspection toe and are designed to stay securely in place. They are latex free, individually packaged, and are available in sizes small to extra large, and in regular and long lengths.

When your patient is at risk for DVT (deep vein thrombosis), anti-embolism stockings can greatly help. Kendall brand T.E.D stockings are seamless and feature an inlay circumferential knit for optimal compression that prevents them from sliding down the leg, and a knee band for an extra secure hold without hindering circulation. The convenient knee-length style is great for when thigh length isn’t medically advised. Help prevent DVT in your prone patinets with Kendall T.E.D. Anti-Embolism Stockings

  2. Measure the distance from the bend of knee to the bottom of heel to determine length. (If possible, measure length in standing position)

Washing and Drying Instructions:

T.E.D Knee Length Anti-Embolism Stockings

  1. May be washed in commercial washers with other “light” goods. Water temperature should not exceed 160˚F (71˚C). Avoid excessive bleach.
  2. May be dried in commercial dryers with temperature going from that of the wet wash to a maximum of 250˚F (121˚C) over a time period of 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from the dryer when cycle is completed as temperatures rise sharply when load is dry. Prolonged heat can reduce the wear life.

Anti-Embolism Stockings are not recommended for patients with the following:

  • Any local leg condition in which stockings would interfere, such as dermatitis, immediate post operative vein ligation, gangrene or recent skin graft
  • Severe arteriosclerosis or other ischemic vascular disease
  • Massive edema (swelling) of legs or pulmonary edema from congestive heart failure

Precautions:

  • Do not allow your stocking to roll down as this may cause constriction and impede your blood flow
  • Do not turn down the top of the stocking
  • Do not cover any portion of the knee
