Smith & Nephew™: Allevyn Island Dressing

Allevyn Island by Smith & Nephew is an absorbent, non-stick hydrocellular foam dressing with a unique breathable adhesive boarder to safely seal the wound from bacteria, while the middle hydrocellular foam pad treats and powerfully absorbs exudate from the wound. When placed on the wound the Allevyn dressing pulls exdudate away from the skin and on the top side of the dressing you can physicaly see the liquid rising away.
Allevyn Island dressing is ideal for pressure ulcers and other moderate to high levels of exudate (wound fluid) and the management of partial to full thickness wounds.
Allevyn Island dressing can be left in place for up to 4 days, depending on the level of exudate (wound drainage).
Allevyn Adhesive dressings are soft and cushioning, giving excellent patient comfort!

-Burns (1st and 2nd degree)
-Creation and maintenance of a moist wound environment. Moist wound environments have been established as optimal environments for the management of the wound.
