Mountainside Medical Equipment Sponsors Walk to End Alzheimer's

This past Saturday, Mountainside Medical Equipment was thrilled to participate in the 2012 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Utica. Held at the Masonic Care Community, and organized by the CNY Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, the event gathered hundreds together to spread awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is an annual event that gathers family, friends, caregivers, and patients together to raise awareness and funds for the disease. This year, the event was held at the scenic Masonic Care Community campus. All participants spent months fundraising for this event in order to provide assistance for furthering research for a cure, as well as help fund programs for family members and caregivers. The spirit of the morning walk – hope, camaraderie, and remembrance - was evident. Those who had lost someone to the disease, had a living relative with the disease, or knew someone affected by Alzheimer’s all walked together with the same goal:  to end Alzheimer’s and raise awareness.

Our booth represented our company walk team, as well as provided literature and goodie bags for anyone interested in more information on how we can help Alzheimer’s patients. Our walk team was made up of participants of all ages – including our newest member, Alzheimer’s Awareness Flat Stanley. As a team, we were able to raise over $1300.00, with donations still on their way. This put us in the #4 slot of the list of Top 5 Corporate Sponsors!

Team Mountainside Medical was excited to be a sponsor for the CNY Chapter, and looks forward to participating again in the future. While the walk is over, fundraising continues until the end of October. If you are interested in supporting Team Mountainside Medical’s involvement, as well as everything the Alzheimer’s Association does to support those with or affected by the disease, please visit our team fundraising page. Every donation helps!
