Mountainside Participates in Toys for Tots Donation Program

Take a moment to reflect on your childhood. Try to remember what it meant to receive a new toy on Christmas morning  - that one you “always wanted,” that one toy that made Christmas morning that much more special. At the same time, you can imagine how devastating it would have been to receive nothing while Santa seemed to visit all your friend’s houses.

Approximately 13 million children are living in poverty today right here in our country. Studies have shown that growing up in poverty can have an adverse psychological impact on a child and is directly linked to their future. No child should have to wonder if they were on the Naughty List for no reason. This is why programs like Toys for Tots is so important.

The United States Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program delivers a message of hope to our Nation’s most valuable asset – children. It brings the community together in the spirit of Christmas to donate to those less fortunate.

By purchasing a toy and dropping it off at local Toys for Tots box, you will:

- Provide a ray of hope for underprivileged children right in your community
- Set a great example for children in the community who receive a donated toy
