Essential Car Items For Moms

When you're a busy mom on the go, remembering to pack everything for your child or children can be difficult. How can you possibly remember it all? Between soccer games, dance rehearsals, basketball practice, piano lessons, or just traveling in general with your kids, wouldn't it be nice to have all the essential products in one place for your little ones? Now you can!

Here at Mountainside Medical, we have compiled a list of essential on the go items that are necessary for you to take with you, no matter where you're headed. And, the bonus is that these items are small enough to fit into any kit, bag, or case - this way, everything is easily accessible, without the hassle of digging through your purse or other compartments in your car.

Must Have Items For Moms to Include in a Car Kit

1. Band-Aids

Having bandages on hand for when your little one takes a stumble is key. Cuts, bumps and bruises often happen, so if your child needs a band-aid, be sure to have plenty in stock! You can also make bandages cute and fun for your child to wear, such as ones featuring their favorite characters, shapes, and colors!

2. Wet Wipes

These are such a necessary item to have with you at all times. Use them to quickly and thoroughly cleanse your hands, your child's hands or face, wipe down a dirty surface, and even get germs and dirt off of doorknobs and shopping carts!

3. Cotton Swabs

You just never know if and when you'll need a quick touch up, clean up, etc. Make sure to keep these on hand so that you can keep yourself and your littles looking fresh and clean!

4. Baby Oil

Did you know that baby oil can be used for a variety of different things? For instance, it can be used to: smooth rough skin, prevent chafing, and even to soothe irritated or sunburned skin. It's gentle enough to use on your child, but also great to keep for yourself, too!

5. Moisturizer

This may seem unconventional, but by having a non-irritating, fragrance-free moisturizer can come in handy! You can use it to hydrate dry skin on you and your child, to remove or apply makeup, and it can help speed up healing of minor skin abrasions.

6. Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer & Gels

You never know what kind of germs your child encounters these days. Having antibacterial gel on hand is key for when your child is constantly exposed to other kids who are sick. Be proactive! If gel is too messy for your little ones, there are plenty of pocket sized antimicrobial hand wipes as well!

7. Hair Brush

Keep a brush on hand to quickly touch up yours or your child's messy hair. Tame those locks and look your best!

8. Tissues

Keep a small batch of tissues, or pocket tissues on hand so you're prepared when the sniffles, sneezes, or coughs sneak up on you or your child.

9. First Aid Kit

A first aid kit is something that should always be carried with you no matter where you go! Stock it up with bandages, gauze, Neosporin, cleansing wipes, hydrogen peroxide, burn creams, etc. That way you are always prepared for any unexpected emergency!

10. Allergy Medicines & Vitamins

Be sure to pack along any medications that you and your child may need while on the go. This includes any allergy medicines, rescue inhalers, generic over the counter cold, flu, and headache medicines, as well. It may also be a good idea to pack along some of those delicious vitamins for your children too!

Please consult with a doctor or other qualified health care professional before taking any medication, supplements, or before starting a health regimen. For these and other first aid, essential items, visit www.mountainside-medical.com.
