Home oxygen concentrators are medical devices used to provide supplemental oxygen to individuals who have low oxygen levels in their blood. This condition, known as hypoxemia, can be caused by a variety of respiratory disorders such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, pulmonary fibrosis, or severe asthma, among others. Unlike oxygen tanks, which contain a finite supply of compressed oxygen, oxygen concentrators extract oxygen from the ambient air by filtering out nitrogen and delivering concentrated oxygen to the patient.
