AquaCel Hydrofiber Dressings, Box
Convatec Aquacel Hydrofiber Dressing is a sterile, fibrous dressing derived from 100% pure sodium carboxymethylcellulose (NaCMC). Aquacel combines the look, feel, and handling properties of gauze and leading alginates, but retains more fluid than alginates and almost three times more fluid than gauze when used under compression.
- Favorable gelling characteristics
- For moderate to high exudate wounds
100% pure sodium carboxymethylcellulose
Action: Soft, sterile, nonwoven pad or ribbon made from sodium carboxymethylcellulose fibers. Conformable and absorbent, forms a soft gel to create a moist healing environment and facilitate autolytic debridement.
Indications: Manage exudating wounds, pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, abrasions, lacerations, incisions, donor sites, oncology wounds, first and second degree burns, surgical, and traumatic wounds. Can be used to control minor bleeding.
Contraindications: Not for use on patients with a sensitivity to the dressing or components. Not for use as a surgical sponge.
Application:Debride and clean wound prior to application using wound cleanser or sterile saline. Apply dressing to the wound site and cover with an appropriate secondary dressing. Change when saturated with exudate or according to clinical practice. Dressing may be left in place for up to 7 days.
Removal: Remove secondary dressing and Aquacel dressing then discard. Irrigate the wound with cleanser or sterile saline to remove residual gel. Redress the wound and cover with a secondary dressing.
