Contour® Blood Glucose Test Strips (100 count) – Ascensia Diabetes Care

These Contour® blood glucose test strips are a 100-count supply of over-the-counter (OTC) diabetes testing strips made by Ascensia Diabetes Care (formerly part of Bayer). They are intended for self-monitoring blood sugar at home. Each strip is used only once in a compatible Contour meter and delivers a fast glucose reading from a tiny finger-stick blood sample. (According to Ascensia, Contour strips are “intended for self-testing by persons with diabetes at home for the quantitative measurement of glucose in fresh capillary whole blood samples”. They are not for diagnosing or screening diabetes, but rather for daily monitoring of glucose as part of a diabetes management plan)

  • Usage: To use a Contour strip, first wash and dry your hands well. Open the bottle (or foil packet) and insert one strip into the Contour meter. Use a lancing device to prick your fingertip, producing a tiny blood drop. Touch the edge of the strip to the blood drop – the strip “sips” up the blood.
