What is an Oxygen Concentrator?
An oxygen concentrator is a mobile device used to provide oxygen therapy to a patient at higher concentrations, usually from 87 to 95.6% pure oxygen, normal surrounding room air is only 31% pure oxygen. The oxygen concentrator has two aluminum cylinders called sieve beds that attached to a compressor that generates and pumps the oxygen through a series of tubes and filters before reaching the patient. The internal and outer bacteria filters remove any particles from the air, assuring the patient receives the most pure, clean air possible. Another method of reaching these high O2 rates is using an oxygen tank of compressed oxygen.
