Amvisc Plus Viscoelastic is a type of ophthalmic viscosurgical device (OVD) used during eye surgery. It contains 1.6% sodium hyaluronate, a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to lubricate and protect the eye. The device has a 0.8 mL volume and is designed to provide a good balance of viscosity and coherence to help maintain proper eye chamber depth during surgery

How to use Amvisc Viscoelastic Ophthalmic Viscosurgical Device:
1. Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the Amvisc Viscoelastic 1.2% Sodium Hyaluronate Ophthalmic Viscosurgical Device.
2. Inspect the packaging to ensure that it is unopened and undamaged.
3. Remove the sterile package from the device by peeling off the tabs.
4. Depress the plunger to expel air from the syringe.
5. Pull the plunger back slowly until the desired amount of gel is visible in the transparent syringe barrel.
6. Attach the provided sterile cannula by twisting it onto the Luer-Lok connector firmly.
7. Hold the cannula in a pencil grip and insert it through the side port incision in the eye.
8. Gently press the plunger and begin injecting the gel into the anterior chamber of the eye.
9. Adjust the pressure on the plunger to control the speed and amount of gel that is injected into the eye.
10. Once the desired amount of gel has been administered, withdraw the cannula slowly, being careful not to disturb the gel in the anterior chamber.
11. Use the device to irrigate if any remaining material is stuck in the cannula.
12. Dispose of the used device properly.
13. Follow the instructions of your ophthalmologist for aftercare and healing.
