Why would I need a manometer guard?

Taking a blood pressure reading can be difficult at times, especially if you are an emergency responder. If the patient is uncooperative, or the environment is noisy and hazardous it can be hard to hear the blood flow through the artery. Taking an accurate reading is important, and depends on many factors including cuff size, working equipment, the state of the patient, etc.

This is why ADC offers different styles of replacement parts and accessories to can choose from. A blood pressure gauge guard is a great way to protect the sensitive manometer on your blood pressure system. It protects the gauge crystals and housings, as well as the dial itself. Keeping a brightly colored guard around your manometer can help you to easily identifyit in your kit, or if it gets misplaced.

  3. Be sure the stethoscope tubing and the cuff tubing do not have any holes
  4. Test the inflation of the blood pressure cuff and deflation valve to make sure there are no leaks in the bladder, bulb or valve
