Inhaled Anesthetics

Inhaled anesthetics are medications administered through the lungs to induce analgesia and unconsciousness during surgeries and medical procedures. These inhaled anesthetics function by modifying receptor activity in the brain and spinal cord, resulting in loss of consciousness and blocking pain signals from reaching the brain. Various types of inhaled anesthetics include halothane, isoflurane, sevoflurane, desflurane, and nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas.
