SoloSite Wound Gel is a non-cytotoxic hydrogel that creates a moist wound environment. Solosite hydrates granulation tissue and rehydrate eschar and slough, liquefying the necrotic tissue in acute and chronic wounds. Solosite has preservatives that are added to help prevent bacterial growth and maximize healing time. SoloSite works best on partial-and full-thickness acute and chronic wounds, such as skin tears, pressure ulcers, and venous leg ulcers. 3 ounce tube.
Brand: Smith and Nephew
Manufacture Product Number: 449600
Application:
Clean the wound with saline solution or an appropriate wound cleanser. Apply SoloSite wound gel to cover the wound surface, and smooth the gel to a depth of 1/8" to 1/4". Cover the primary dressing with an appropriate secondary dressing. Next, choose a dressing size that is slightly larger than the wound. Press the dressing into the wound so that it makes contact with the wound bed.
Removal:
For wounds that are covered with necrotic or sloughy debris, change SoloSite wound Gel at least daily. For wounds that are granulating or epithelializing, change the dressing every 2 days, because these wounds have significantly less drainage.
Note: Solosite dressings and wound hydrogel should only be used on minor burns and should never be used on third-degree burns.
Solosite wound gel meets U.S. Pharmacopeia requirements for cytotoxicity and is nonsensitizing, systemically nontoxic, nonmutagenic, and nonhemolytic.
