The New Allevyn Gentle wound care dressing is gentle solution that decreases pain of removal, increases comfort and promotes a moist environment for faster wound closure. Allevyn Gentle has an advanced triple-layered construction which combines an absorbent hydrocellular pad sandwiched between a perforated soft gel adhesive wound contact layer and a highly permeable waterproof outer film. This is fantastic new dressing that is different from the regular Allevyn dressings, the soft gel adhesive is throughout the whole dressing, are not just on the borders, and this gives a tighter, more secure fit for a full 7 days.

What is Allevyn Gentle?
Allevyn Gentle is a Hydrocellular Foam wound care dressing that can soak-up a lot of exudating fluid. Allevyn Gentle is used for wounds in the early stages of healing, when exudates (fluid) drains from the wounds. Allevyn Gentle is suitable for chronic and acute exudative wounds, such as full and partial thickness wounds like pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, infected wounds first and second degree burns, skin tears and donor sites. Allevyn Gentle is comfortable and gentle to the skin and can be left in place for several days. Allevyn Gentle is the newest addition to the Allevyn family by Smith & Nephew and is available with or without an adhesive border

On application the gel adhesives on ALLEVYN Gentle and ALLEVYN Gentle Border flow into the crevices of the skin allowing more points of contact to stay in place. |
On removal, the gel adhesives stretch and flow out of the crevices of the skin, minimising the risk of trauma to the wound and pain to the patient. |
