Morning Sickness Remedy

Morning Sickness Remedy

The majority of pregnant women experience morning sickness, many experiencing nausea and vomiting. This is an unfortunate consequence of pregnancy that is still not fully understood by the medical community. However, there are safe and effective remedies that can help to alleviate symptoms. Morning sickness can be a challenge to pregnant women, is difficult for first time pregnancy, and in most cases is a recurring condition for subsequent pregnancies. Coupled with the discomfort which can interfere with daily responsibilities, morning sickness can also lead to dehydration which can be unsafe for both mother and child. Over the years, many morning sickness remedies have been proposed, but many cannot assumed safe, and some, like thalidomide, have lead to tragedy. Recently, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists suggest that supplementation of Vitamin B6 can help to alleviate morning sickness. It has also been posited that combining this supplementation with an antihistamine containing doxylamine can help significantly reduce symptoms. Some may not like the idea of taking supplements or over the counter medications for treating morning sickness. These individuals may find relief in crackers, ginger, and other folk remedies.
