Medical Tourniquets used to stop blood flow by controlling venous and arterial circulation to an extremity for a period of time. The tourniquet applies pressure to the walls of vessels, causing them to become temporarily blocked. Tourniquets are widely used in hospitals when starting an iv or to control bleeding during trauma.
