Duoderm CGF Hydrocolloid Dressing is a sterile adhesive dressing that is used to protect and cover wounds. The dressing is made up of a hydrocolloid adhesive that is able to absorb exudate and provide a moist environment for wound healing. The dressing is also able to conform to the wound and provide a cushioning effect.
A pressure ulcer, also known as a bedsore, is a wound that develops when pressure or friction is applied to the skin for a long period of time. This can happen when a person is confined to a bed or wheelchair for a long period of time. The pressure cuts off the blood supply to the skin, which can damage the skin and underlying tissue.
Duoderm Cgf Dressing is made with a unique gelling action that creates a moist wound environment, designed to support the healing process and facilitate autolytic debridement. Duoderm is a moisture-retentive dressing that absorbs wound fluids and provides a moist environment, which supports the body's healing process and aids in the removal of unnecessary material from the wound (autolytic debridement) without damaging new tissue. The duoderm acts as a barrier to the wound against bacterial, viral and other external contamination while intact and without leakage. The Duoderm dressings are made to manage minor abrasions, lacerations, minor cuts, minor scalds and burns, leg ulcers (venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, and leg ulcers of mixed etiology), diabetic ulcers and pressure ulcers (partial-and full-thickness), surgical wounds (postoperative left to heal by secondary intention, donor sites, dermatologic excisions) second-degree burns, and traumatic wounds.
