Tri-Lo-Mili is an oral contraceptive medication that contains a combination of two hormones - norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol. These hormones work together to prevent pregnancy by stopping ovulation, thickening the cervical mucus to prevent sperm from reaching the egg, and thinning the lining of the uterus to prevent implantation of a fertilized egg. The medication is available in three different dosages - 0.180 mg/0.025 mg, 0.215/0.025 mg, and 0.250/0.025 mg - which refer to the amount of norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol in each tablet. It is commonly used as a form of birth control and may also be prescribed to treat symptoms of PMS (premenstrual syndrome) and acne. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and take the medication at the same time each day to ensure maximum effectiveness.
