Ciclopirox Gelused to treat certain fungal skin infections such as ringworm and athlete's foot between the toes. It is also used to treat a certain scalp condition (seborrheic dermatitis). Ciclopirox is an antifungal medication that works by stopping the growth of fungus. 0.77%.
Ciclopirox Gel 0.77% is a white, fluid gel that has a hydroxypyridone antifungal agent although the relevance of this property for the indication of seborrheic dermatitis is not known. Ciclopirox acts by chelation of polyvalent cations (Fe3+ or Al3+), resulting in the inhibition of the metal-dependent enzymes that are responsible for the degradation of peroxides within the fungal cell.

Superficial Dermatophyte Infections Ciclopirox GeI,0.77% is indicated for the topical treatment of interdigital tinea pedis and tinea corporis due to Trichophytonrubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, or Epidermophyton floccosum. Seborrheic Dermatitis Ciclopirox Gel,0.77% is indicated for the topical treatment of seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp.
