Xylocaine MPF Lidocaine HCI injection is a prescription medication used for numbing or anesthesia purposes. It contains 1% lidocaine hydrochloride as the active ingredient and is available in single-dose vials with a concentration of 10 mg/mL. These vials are preservative-free, meaning they do not contain any added chemicals to prevent contamination. Each vial contains 2mL of the medication. It is typically used in medical procedures, such as surgeries or dental work, to temporarily numb the area being treated.

Xylocaine MPF Injection contains lidocaine hydrochloride, a local anesthetic. It works by blocking the nerve signals in the area of the injection, so the person does not feel pain. It does this by inhibiting the influx of sodium ions through the ion-specific neuronal voltage-gated membrane channels. This decrease in the entry of sodium ions and reduction of influx reduces depolarization, which helps to prevent the initiation and conduction of nerve signals, thereby producing a local anesthetic effect.
