ColoScreen Occult Blood Test for the Laboratory is a guaiac slide test used to detect occult blood in the fecal stool. Designed to help diagnose a number of gastrointestinal disorders from stool samples. 100 occult tests per box.

ColoScreen, like all guaiac paper tests for occult blood testing, is based on the oxidation of phenolic compounds present in the guaiac (i.e. guaiaconic acids) to quinones resulting in production of the blue color.

When a fecal specimen containing occult blood is applied to the test paper, contact is made between hemoglobin and the guaia. A pseudoperoxidase reaction will occur upon the addition of the developer solution, with a blue chromagen formed proportionally to the concentration of hemoglobins. The color reaction will occur after 30 seconds.

  • Why Choose Our Fecal Occult Blood Test Kit?

At-Home Convenience: Yes, you can do a fecal occult blood test at home with our easy-to-use kit. No need for a doctor’s visit or lab appointment! Most Accurate Test for Blood in Stool: Our FOBT uses immunochemical technology (FIT test), the best and most advanced test for occult blood in stool, with higher sensitivity and specificity compared to traditional guaiac tests. Affordable Price: Wondering how much does a FOBT cost? Our kits are among the most affordable on the market, providing clinical-grade results at a fraction of lab testing fees. Is Cologuard Just an Occult Blood Test? Cologuard detects both occult blood and abnormal DNA, but for blood detection alone, our FOBT offers superior accuracy, low cost, and immediate results — all from the

  • Key Features – Designed for Your Health & Safety

Reliable Home Testing: Easily test for blood in your stool at home in just minutes, with no mess or complicated steps. FOBT vs. Colonoscopy: While a colonoscopy remains the gold standard for overall colon examination and can detect multiple cancer types (including colorectal, rectal, and occasionally anal cancer), a fecal occult blood test is less invasive, affordable, and hassle-free for routine annual screening and early detection. Health Insights: Occult (hidden) blood in stool can be a sign of colon cancer, colorectal polyps, hemorrhoids, diverticulosis, or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The most common cause is bleeding from polyps or hemorrhoids, making early detection critical. Super-Easy Home Procedure: Includes all instructions, sterile collection tools, and clear color-change indicators. No diet or medication changes required! Safe, Lab-Validated Accuracy: Avoid unreliable online methods like hydrogen peroxide to detect blood in stool, which are neither safe nor accurate. Trust only FDA-approved test kits recommended by medical professionals.

  • Can you do a fecal occult blood test at home?

Yes! Our FOBT kit is specifically designed for easy, private, at-home stool blood testing without a doctor's appointment.

  • What is the best test for occult blood in stool?

The Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT), available in our kit, is the most accurate and recommended screening test for detecting hidden blood in stool.

  • How much does a FOBT test cost?

Our kits start as low as [insert price], making them accessible for everyone.

  • Is Cologuard just an occult blood test?

Cologuard tests for both occult blood and DNA changes, but our FOBT is a targeted, cost-effective solution for rapid blood detection in stool.

  • Is a fecal occult blood test better than a colonoscopy?

FOBT is less invasive and ideal for regular screening, but a colonoscopy can visualize the entire colon and remove polyps during the procedure.

  • What is the most common cause of occult blood in stool?

Hemorrhoids, polyps, colorectal cancer, diverticulosis, and IBD.

  • Can hydrogen peroxide detect blood in stool?

No, this method is unreliable and not medically approved. Always use a certified FOBT kit.

  • What cancers can a colonoscopy detect?

Colonoscopy can detect colorectal cancer, rectal cancer, and sometimes anal cancer, as well as pre-cancerous polyps and other gastrointestinal diseases.
