How to use Sterile Diluent for Treprostinil Injection 50 mL Vial:

2. Wash your hands thoroughly: Prior to handling any medication, it is important to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds to prevent the introduction of germs into the solution.
3. Check the expiration date: Before using the Sterile Diluent, make sure to check the expiration date to ensure the solution is still usable.
4. Prepare your workspace: Lay down a clean towel or surface to work on. This will prevent any contamination from surfaces.
5. Remove the cap from the Treprostinil Injection vial: Hold the vial firmly and twist off the cap to expose the rubber stopper.
6. Remove the protective seal from the vial of Sterile Diluent: Carefully remove the protective seal from the vial of Sterile Diluent. Do not touch the rubber stopper or the inside of the vial.
7. Ensure aseptic technique: It is important to maintain a sterile environment when handling the medication. Do not touch the rubber stopper or the inside of the vial with your hands or any other objects.
8. Insert the syringe into the vial of Sterile Diluent: Use a sterile syringe and needle to withdraw the appropriate amount of Sterile Diluent as directed by your healthcare provider. Insert the needle through the rubber stopper of the vial.
9. Push air into the Treprostinil Injection vial: To make it easier to withdraw the medication, inject an amount of air into the vial that is equal to the amount of Sterile Diluent you will be adding.
10. Withdraw the Sterile Diluent: With the needle still inserted in the vial, withdraw the appropriate amount of Sterile Diluent.
11. Inject the Sterile Diluent into the Treprostinil Injection vial: Slowly inject the Sterile Diluent into the Treprostinil Injection vial. Make sure that the tip of the needle is always submerged in the solution to avoid creating air bubbles.
12. Gently mix the solution: To ensure the Sterile Diluent and Treprostinil are evenly mixed, gently swirl the vial. Do not shake the vial.
13. Visually inspect the solution: Check for any particles or discoloration in the solution. If you see any, do not use the solution and discard it properly.
14. Store the reconstituted solution: If you are not using the solution immediately, store it in the refrigerator. Do not freeze.
