Bladder Irrigation

Certain procedures, including prostate surgery, and conditions can cause calculi to build up in the bladder. Bladder irrigation is used to flush the debris out. This process helps to keep the bladder clean, and allows it to perform its regular duties efficiently. Irrigation also eliminates the risk of infections or painful blockages within the bladder.

Bladders can become irritated, inflamed, or infected, and when this happens a physician will often use a bladder irrigation method to treat the condition. A bladder irrigation tray provides a physician with common items they will need to perform the procedure safely and effectively. Having one of these irrigation kits makes the process faster, and easier for the patient, and can even help to ease anxiety, increasing patient confidence in the provider.

Bladder irrigation trays usually have two different options for syringes. Some kits will include a piston syringe, while other a bulb syringe. Both syringes are effective in bladder irrigation procedures, they just give the provider different options to choose from. Both styles of syringes are offered as a preference to the medical professionals, and many bladder irrigation trays can be used for catheter irrigation as well.
