Getting your blood pressure under control begins by taking measurements at home using a reliable monitor that's easy to operate.
The best home blood pressure monitors are the ones that not only give accurate readings but also inflate easily, are portable, and let you store multiple readings over time.
Mountainside Medical sells two of the most popular and trusted makes in the world: Mabis and ADC. You can see our full range of home blood pressure monitors here.
Differences Between Arm and Wrist Blood Pressure Monitors
If you're buying your first monitor, or maybe you're upgrading to a new model, it's important to note that there are two basic types of home blood pressure monitors to choose from:
- Wrist blood pressure monitors.
- Arm blood pressure monitors.
Blood pressure monitors also come in digital and manual varieties.
Digital wrist blood pressure monitors have a distinct advantage for the home user over manual models. ADC monitors use SmartLogic® technology to determine the ideal inflation level automatically, so you don't have to fuss with it every time you use your monitor. And the onboard computer remembers previous readings so you can compare over time.
Wrist blood pressure monitors also have the added convenience of being small, portable and ideal for home, work and travel.
Arm monitors are more commonly used in health care facilities. Our Mabis monitor has a standard aneroid gauge, bulb, air release valve, and nylon or cotton cuff with hook and loop closure. Basic, durable and very affordable.
Replacement parts are available through Mountainside Medical for your Mabis and ADC monitors:
- Mabis replacement gauges, valves, and gauge calibration tools.
- Mabis gauge guards to protect aneroid gauges from damage.
- ADC inflation bulbs.
