Definitely takes reliable one second temperatures. The display screen changes colors depending upon temperature, green okay, yellow marginal, red w/alarm high. Getting more accurate temperatures by shooting an ear canal rather than forehead. Prefer shooting from side rather than above mouth and noses. Also excellent for taking pet temperatures. Has several different settings, body, room, surface. Large easy to read display, alarm has on/off button. AA alkaline batteries supposedly last for 100,000 readings, came with batteries. Installed leak proof lithium batteries in all medical equipment. Use alkaline batteries if flying commercial airlines.

The thermometer works really well, even takes room temperature as well as body temperature. The only thing I can’t seem to figure out is how to permanently change the readings to Fahrenheit- I actually made myself a chart to convert the readings. I can press buttons to get it to read F but then next time I use it it’s right back to C. Handy to have and works without contact.

It reads low.

Wasn't close to accurate (I tested it against 2 different oral thermometers and it was WAY off).
Had to change it to F from C each time, and sometimes it would just register "LOW" without giving me a number ...
The entire process was aggravating.
After messing with it for nearly half an hour I just threw it out.

Needs new batteries often; Standard mode is in Celsius versus Fahrenheit; Difficult to obtain accurate results. Intend to return.
