Please note: If the cap is dry when the packaged is opened it should be discarded immediately.
Heating Instructions
- To warm the cap using warm water: Put the package in hot tap water until it feels like the package has warmed through
- To warm the cap using a microwave: Peel open the label on the front of the package and then place the package in the microwave, with the opened label facing up. Using a maximum of 20 second intervals, heat the package until it feels warm. Test the package for warmth every 20 seconds. Continue microwaving the package using 20 second intervals until the desired warmth is achieved.
Usage Instructions
- To increase patient comfort it is recommended that the cap be heated before use
- Once the cap has been heated, place the cap on the patient’s head
- Use caution to ensure that the cap and solution doesn’t get in the patient’s eyes
- Tuck all of the hair under the cap
- Verify that there aren’t any sections of hair that were missed and are still outside of the cap
- Through the outside of the cap, massage the hair and scalp for approximately 3-4 minutes or until the hair feels like it has been fully saturated with the solution (hair that is quite tangled or saturated with gels, blood, etc. may require additional saturation time)
- Remove the cap and make sure the hair has been fully saturated. If not, place the cap back on and continue massaging. If so, discard the cap
- Use a towel to completely dry the patients hair as much as is possible
- Comb the hair and style as desired
