Savella (Milnacipran) is a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) drug prescribed for the treatment of pain associated with fibromyalgia.

Savella is similar to Cymbalta, both of which are newer-generation antidepressants called selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). The mechanism of action of Lyrica is not fully understood; however, it is not an antidepressant and appears to exert its effectiveness through pain modulation.
