Transparent film dressings are thin, flexible, see-through coverings used to protect wounds and IV sites. They’re made of a clear polyurethane film coated with a special breathable adhesive that sticks to intact skin but not to the moist wound surface. In simple terms, think of a transparent film dressing as a transparent “second skin” bandage that you can place over a wound.
