Desonide, USP (Micronized) is a medical grade corticosteroid that is used in skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It is a potent anti-inflammatory agent and also has antipruritic (anti-itch) properties. It is available in a micronized form, which means that it is finely divided and has smaller particle size compared to regular desonide, which allows for better absorption by the skin. Desonide, USP (Micronized) is typically used for compounding in customized formulations for patients who may not respond to commercially available medications.
