It contains a milk-derived protein complex called CPP-ACP (marketed as “Recaldent”) which slowly releases bioavailable calcium and phosphate onto tooth surfaces. In other words, MI Paste provides the same mineral building blocks (calcium, phosphate, and optionally fluoride in the “Plus” version) that healthy saliva supplies.
