Tetracycline

Tetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including acne, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, and sexually transmitted infections. It works by inhibiting protein synthesis in bacteria, thereby preventing bacterial growth. Tetracycline is also effective against infections caused by Rickettsiae, Mycoplasma, and certain protozoa. It is often used when penicillin cannot be administered due to allergy or resistance, and is also utilized in managing conditions like Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
