The BD Microtainer Tube Extender is a device that is used to increase the length of a blood collection tube. The extender is a clear plastic tube that has a Luer-Lok connector on one end and a male luer connector on the other. The device is inserted into the blood collection tube and the tube is then attached to the Luer-Lok connector. The device is then inserted into the vein and the blood is collected. When the collection is complete, the device is removed from the tube and the tube is attached to the male luer connector. The device is then removed from the vein.
