How to Use Medi-First Eye Wash Station:
1. Mount the Eye Wash Station: Use the screws and anchors provided to mount the eye wash station in a visible and easily accessible location. Ensure that the station is at a comfortable height for use.
2. Fill the Eye Wash Station: Open the cap on the top of the eye wash station and fill it with clean tap water or sterile eye wash solution. Do not use saline solution or any other chemicals as they may cause further irritation.
3. Test the Eye Wash Station: Before an emergency, it is important to test the eye wash station to make sure it is functioning properly. Pull down on the yellow eye wash handle and run the water for a minimum of 3 minutes to flush out any contaminants and debris.
4. How to Use the Eye Wash Station: In the event of an eye injury or exposure to hazardous materials, remove any foreign objects from the affected eye(s). Hold the affected eye open with your fingers. Then position your head in front of the eye wash station and use the yellow handle to gently flush the eye for a minimum of 15 minutes.
5. Seek Medical Attention: After using the eye wash station, seek immediate medical attention for any further treatment or evaluation.
6. Reset the Eye Wash Station: Once the eye wash has been used, reset it by turning the water off and closing the cap on the top of the station. The water will be ready for immediate use in case of another emergency.
7. Maintenance and Training: Regularly check the expiry date of the eye wash solution and replace it as needed. Train all employees in the proper use and location of the eye wash station. Regularly remind employees of the location and proper use of the station.
