  • What is Infuvite Pediatric and what does it contain?

Infuvite Pediatric is a prescription-only injectable multivitamin (IV multivitamin) formulated for intravenous administration in neonatal and pediatric patients. It contains 13 vitamins: ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), Vitamin A (as palmitate), Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), pyridoxine HCl (B6), niacinamide, dexpanthenol, Vitamin E (dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate), Vitamin K1, folic acid, biotin, and Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin). Dosing quantities for each vitamin vary by patient weight category.

  • How many doses does the pharmacy bulk pack provide?

The pharmacy bulk pack (50 mL total after mixing) yields dose quantities that depend on patient weight: 33 doses of 1.5 mL for patients under 1 kg, 15 doses of 3.25 mL for patients 1 kg to under 3 kg, or 10 doses of 5 mL for patients 3 kg or greater. A single bulk pack will rarely serve a uniform patient weight group exclusively — actual dose count depends on the weight distribution of patients in your admixture program.

  • How do I mix the two-vial pharmacy bulk package?

Transfer the full contents of Vial 2 (10 mL) into Vial 1 (40 mL) using a suitable sterile transfer device in a laminar flow hood or equivalent ISO-classified clean air compounding area. Each vial closure may be penetrated only once. The combined solution (50 mL) must be fully dispensed within 4 hours of first puncturing the vial closure. The mixed solution may be refrigerated during this window but must be discarded after 4 hours regardless.

  • What is the shelf life and storage requirement after mixing?

Once mixed, the solution may be refrigerated and used for up to 4 hours. Once a dose is diluted into an IV fluid (minimum 100 mL dextrose or saline), the resulting solution must be used within 24 hours if refrigerated, or immediately if stored at ambient temperature. Discard any unused portion — do not reuse or re-puncture vials.

  • Why is light sensitivity an important consideration for this product?

Vitamins A, D, and riboflavin are photosensitive and will degrade when exposed to light — including standard fluorescent lighting in clinical compounding environments. This is particularly relevant in NICU settings where phototherapy is in use nearby. Minimize light exposure throughout preparation and administration. Some facilities use light-protective tubing and amber bags for this reason.

  • Is this product available without a prescription?

No. Infuvite Pediatric is a prescription-only (Rx) pharmaceutical product. Purchase is restricted to licensed healthcare professionals and institutional buyers with valid medical or pharmacy licensure. Mountainside Medical Equipment verifies licensing as part of the ordering process.

  • How is the product shipped and what are the cold-chain requirements?

This is a refrigerated product and ships via Next Day Air only. Orders cannot be dispatched on Thursday or Friday — this restriction exists to prevent the product from sitting in transit over a weekend without temperature control. Plan your procurement schedule to place orders no later than Wednesday for same-week fulfilment.

  • Can I order Infuvite Pediatric in bulk for institutional use?

Yes. Mountainside Medical Equipment supplies this pediatric multivitamin solution at wholesale pricing to hospital pharmacies, compounding facilities, NICUs, clinics, and other licensed institutional buyers across the United States. Contact the sales team at sales@mountainside-medical.com or +1 (888) 687-4334 for volume pricing and institutional account setup. New accounts receive 5% off their first order, and free shipping applies to qualifying orders over $100.

  • What monitoring is required for patients receiving this product long-term?

For patients receiving Infuvite Pediatric as their primary or sole vitamin source over extended periods — as is common in long-term parenteral nutrition — blood vitamin concentrations should be monitored regularly. This applies particularly to fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K), where both deficiency and accumulation are clinically relevant concerns depending on the patient's overall nutrition plan and clinical status.
