It is a bacteriostatic agent that inhibits the growth of bacteria. Sodium chloride is the principal cation of the extracellular fluid and is essential for the maintenance of osmotic equilibrium and the proper hydration of the cells. The solution is buffered to a pH of 6.8 to 7.2 with sodium bicarbonate. Fresenius Bacteriostatic Sodium Chloride 0.9% For Injection 30mL Multiple Dose Vials are used to mix with drugs before you inject them.
