Description

BD Liquid Amies Elution Swab (ESwab) Collection and Transport System is a sterile collection device for collecting and transporting clinical specimens, such as nasopharyngeal or throat swabs, for microbiological analysis. It is designed to maintain the viability and integrity of bacteria, fungi, and viruses during transport to the laboratory, allowing for accurate and reliable test results. The combination of liquid Amies transport medium and an elution swab aids in resuspending and releasing the collected organisms, providing a more representative sample for culture. It is commonly used for respiratory specimen collection and testing for respiratory infections, such as COVID-19. The collection and transport system is also suitable for bacterial culture, viral culture, and molecular diagnostics.

BD 220245 Eelution swab (Eswabs) Specimen Container used to collect and transport clinical specimens containing aerobes, anaerobes and fastidious bacteria from the collection site to the testing laboratory.

BD ESwab collection kit is a sterile package containing two components: a pre-labeled polypropylene screw-cap tube with conical shaped bottom filled with 1 mL of Liquid Amies transport medium and a specimen collection swab which has a tip flocked with soft nylon fiber.
