The BD Veritor System Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Testing Kit is a medical diagnostic tool used to detect the presence of RSV in patients with respiratory illness. It includes a Nasopharyngeal swab for sample collection, as well as solutions for washing and aspirating the sample. Each kit contains 30 tests and is compatible with the BD Veritor System Analyzer, which provides rapid and accurate results. RSV is a common virus that can cause mild to severe respiratory infections, especially in young children and older adults. Timely and accurate diagnosis is important for appropriate treatment and management of the infection.

The BD 256042 Veritor™ System is a chromatographic immunoassay with an instrumented read for the direct and qualitative detection of RSV fusion protein from a direct nasopharyngeal swab from patients suspected of having a viral respiratory infection.

This test is intended for in vitro diagnostic use to aid in the diagnosis of RSV infections in infants and pediatric patients under the age of 20 years

Note: It is to be used in conjunction with the BD Veritor System Reader.
