ColoCare® 5650 Screening Pack Colorectal Cancer Screening Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) Stool Sample

ColoCARE is an excellent choice for health fairs and employee screens. Each patient kit provides the means to test three consecutive bowel movements and contains everything needed to complete testing in the privacy of home. Testing is accomplished by simply placing ColoCARE in the toilet after a bowel movement and noting any color change on a response card. ColoCARE is flushed away and the response card returned to the screening sponsor or physician for follow up.

  • ColoCARE is a throw-in-the-bowl fecal occult blood test for detecting pre-symptomatic bleeding caused by gastrointestinal diseases
  • Simply place a ColoCARE test pad in the toilet after a bowel movement, watch for a color change, then flush the pad away
  • It requires no stool handling, no chemical developers, no laboratory processing, and no mailing of biohazards
  • The test pad consists of biodegradable paper chemically treated with a chromogen
  • If detectable blood is present, the hemoglobin reacts with the chromogen, and a blue and/or green color reaction occurs
  • Each patient kit provides the means to test three consecutive bowel movements and contains everything needed to complete testing in the privacy of home.

What is Gastritis?

Gastritis is characterized by inflammation of the stomach lining and can be obtained suddenly, or gradually. If left untreated, there is a high risk of extreme blood loss and developing stomach cancer. Some symptoms include, black tarry stool; nausea or a constantly upset stomach; abdominal pain or bloating; hiccups; loss of appetite; vomiting blood; or a burning/gnawing feeling in the stomach during the night.

Usually if this disease is suspected your doctor will do an upper endoscopy which will allow him/her to take a look at your stomach through a tube that is inserted by mouth, and take tissue samples for lab testing. They may also recommend a fecal occult blood test, or a stool test. This is usually performed at home and is used to detect microscopic traces of blood in the stool that are invisible to the naked eye.
