Description

Unasyn Ampicillin and Sulbactam Injection 3 Gram Add-Vantage Vials is a combination antibiotic medication used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It contains two active ingredients, ampicillin and sulbactam, which work together to fight against bacteria that may cause infections in the body. The medication is available in 3 gram vials that are meant to be mixed with a specific amount of sterile water for intravenous (IV) use. It is commonly used in hospitals and healthcare settings to treat serious infections, such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and skin infections.

Ampicillin and sulbactam for injection, USP is an injectable antibacterial combination consisting of the semisynthetic antibacterial ampicillin sodium and the beta-lactamase inhibitor sulbactamsodium for intravenous administration.

Ampicillin sodium is derived from the penicillin nucleus, 6-aminopenicillanic acid. Chemically, it is monosodium (2S, 5R, 6R)-6-[(R)-2-amino-2-phenylacetamido]-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-2-carboxylate and has a molecular weight of 371.39. Its chemical formula is C16H18N3NaO4S
