Fecal Occult Blood Testing Kit (FOBT) Stool Sample 100 Tests Per Box

Description

A Fecal Occult Blood Testing Kit (FOBT) is used to detect small amounts of blood in stool that cannot be seen with the naked eye. It helps screen for colorectal cancer and may help identify bleeding in the digestive tract.

Kit Includes: (100) Single Slides with On-Slide Controls, (2) Fecal Occult Blood Test Developing Solution, (100) Applicators, Product Instructions

What Is It Used For?

  • Colorectal cancer screening: Detects hidden bleeding that may be associated with colorectal cancer or precancerous polyps.
  • Evaluation of gastrointestinal bleeding: May help a healthcare professional investigate suspected bleeding. Blood in stool can also result from hemorrhoids, ulcers, inflammation, or other conditions.

Fecal immunochemical test (FIT or iFOBT): Uses antibodies to detect human hemoglobin in stool. It generally does not require dietary restrictions and is more specific for bleeding from the lower digestive tract.

How Is It Used?

A small stool sample is collected using the supplied collection materials and tested or returned to a laboratory or healthcare office. Depending on the kit, samples from more than one bowel movement may be required. Avoid contaminating samples with urine or toilet water.
