Clobetasol propionate is a synthetic, topical corticosteroid drug used to treat various skin disorders, including eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It is available as an ointment, cream, lotion, gel, shampoo, and aerosol spray. When used according to the instructions of a physician, clobetasol propionate shampoo is effective in reducing pruritus, plaque psoriasis, and scalp erythema. It is generally well tolerated, but may cause some adverse effects, including hair loss, skin atrophy, and exacerbation of underlying dermatoses.
