Phenylephrine Hydrochloride for Injection 100mg/10mL is an injectable drug used to improve blood pressure and heart rate. This injection works by stimulating the alpha-1 and alpha-2 adrenergic receptors on the smooth muscles of the walls of arteries and veins. It acts to constrict the arterial blood vessels, increase the blood volume within the circulatory system, and, as a result, increases the cardiac output. This injection is used to treat shock and hypotension, which can be caused by an overhaul of medical conditions including trauma, surgery, allergic reactions, and medicines given in a hospital setting. It can also be used as a diagnostic tool, when administered as a drug test known as a catecholamine provocation test. Phenylephrine Hydrochloride for Injection 100mg/10mL is an injectable medication that works to dilate blood vessels and produce a temporary sensation of increased alertness. It provides a therapeutic effect by performing as an alpha-1 agonist, stimulating the release of epinephrine—otherwise known as adrenaline—from the adrenal glands. This creates an acute increase in both blood pressure and oxygen levels within the required areas of the body, improving circulation while allowing for improved, fully-oxygenated blood flow.
